"A (wo)man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of (her)his life in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of beautiful God has implanted in the human soul."- Goethe

Wedding Cake

The latest installment of Kirk's desserts:

This delectable wedding cake with gourmet peanut butter and banana frosting was topped with the only figurines close enough to use on the top. They reminded us of the village people. If a cake could party rock, this one would be shufflin' every day.

Megasicle

The latest installment of Kirk's Deserts is phenomenal indeed. Behold, the MEGASICLE:

This is a multi-flavored popsicle molded in a pitcher. Each layer contained a tasty surprise, which wasn't part of the request, so Alyssa went above and beyond on this one. I love the crazy things Kirk comes up with! If you want to learn more about the history of Kirk's desserts, check it out here.

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. (and Bacon)

The latest installment of Kirk's ridiculous dessert requests was executed most acceptably:

...a bowl of bacon covered in whipped cream. A strange dessert? Only to the less fortunate. Scrumptious? Duh, it has bacon. What kind of question is that? Beautiful? Oh, yes. Please note the cinnamon sprinkles on top of this decadent masterpiece.

Another Round

Here is the next installment of Kirk's fabulous desserts, courtesy of Alyssa:

It is Michelangelo's David carved out of ice cream. He is quite buff and well-toned, don't you think? What an excellent specimen of human musculature. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I keep feeling like this little fellow needs a best friend...a red horse, perhaps?

A Can of Worms

So, for Christmas my rockin' sister-in-law gave Kirk the most excellent of gifts: a coupon book for 12 free desserts throughout the year of his choosing. It really is the gift that gives all year 'round and perfect for Kirk because he loves dessert. Well, if you don't already know, Kirk is known to be a bit of a scalawag. It's just an occupational hazard of having a brilliant mind brimming with imagination.

So, you can imagine that Kirk does not order your everyday desserts when redeeming his coupons. The first up was titled "The Honest Abe Peanut Butter Cookie Pizza," and came complete with diagram. (In case your interest is piqued, it is a pizza-sized peanut butter cookie with the profile of Abraham Lincoln on it in hot fudge sauce.) Behold:

What do you think? Did Alyssa nail it? I don't know...I think it looks more like Colonel Sanders! Poor Lyss, though. I think she's only beginning to realize the can of worms she opened.
