We took that crazy kid of ours to the beach for the very first time a couple weeks ago, and it was a big hit! It was perfect weather for splashing and sandcastles:
P-double-B loved jumping over the waves, climbing on the beachy boulders, and playing in the soggy sand. I loved listening to the waves and walking barefoot and calming my spirits. It was a good day, indeed.
So, I know there are strong feelings about these things. I must ask: beach, mountains, both, or none?
I'm a firm believer in both. I think I probably cherish my time at the beach a little more simply because it's rarer. But I would cry if I couldn't return to my mountains.
ReplyDeleteI hear you. It's a hard question for some to answer, but I agree with your thoughts. I love the time I get to spend by the beach, but I might not make it long in this world if I didn't have my mountains to turn to every couple of days!
